Following Jesus Isn’t Logical
And your works while following Him are justified by God alone, even Jesus’ brothers didn’t believe He was who He said He was until He resurrected. They grew up with Him.
That’s not logical. Logical people could not see Jesus for who He was, and would not follow Him.
But it was those with faith that could see, and had ears to hear. Often from those who first sought mercy, they could not afford to be logical in their quest for salvation. So they found Christ in that hope and faith.
Knowing Jesus isn’t logical. Following Him isn’t. Stop hoping it will be, you get to be a little child. Rejoice, child!
No more worries or logical independence; you are now a faithful dependent of your Father God. You have nothing to worry about. You see God take care of the birds, and you are more valuable than them, children of God.
The woman who gave all she had isn’t logical; she is RICH, the RICHEST PERSON ALIVE.
“Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had…
And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.
But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
In your patience possess ye your souls…
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
From Luke Chapter 21
If you try to say following Jesus is logical because it leads you to Heaven, I’d agree that you are being logical. But you are not following Jesus in that statement; you are serving yourself, trying to achieve your own security and using Jesus as a catalyst instead of seeing Him as a brother and the Son of Man who died for you and loves you.
He came to earth to meet you face to face, as a man. If you follow Him only to get to Heaven, and not out of the love in your heart for the Son of Man, you will not enter.
He left Heaven to come and get you, you must do the same for others. You must see people as your brothers and sisters and love like Jesus does, and that has nothing to do with wanting to be in Heaven. It has to do with God’s Will being fulfilled on earth as it has been in Heaven. It’s about God’s Will, not your desires to be in Heaven or to avoid hell. It’s not logical for you; the logical part belongs to God.
In fact, Adam and Eve, and satan when he was cast down, all tried to take the logic into their own hands. Don’t. Be faithful.
Look at what happened to Peter, Paul and to Jesus Himself in this world. Logical?
Why would YOU, following Him, be any different?
“The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.”
From Luke Chapter 6
If that scares you, consider this Scripture and then realize you should only fear God Himself. Nothing or no one else.
“For whosoever will SAVE THEIR LIFE SHALL LOSE IT: and whosoever will LOSE THEIR LIFE FOR MY SAKE SHALL FIND IT”
From Matthew Chapter 16
Lastly.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
From Proverbs Chapter 3
