Everything Purpose of Life on Earth does, and what to do when it does not.
Signing in
There is no password anywhere here. Type your email address and a message arrives carrying a six-digit code and a link. Type the code into the app or the sign-in page that asked for it; that is the surest way. The link in the message works only in the same browser that asked for it, so from the phone app, type the code and leave the link alone. You can also sign in with Apple or with Google.
If the code or link does not arrive
Give it a minute and check your spam or junk folder, the place your mail keeps strangers. A code is good once, for up to an hour. If you need another, wait a minute before asking, then ask from the Account page. If you hid your email when signing in with Apple, the message goes to the address Apple made for you and is forwarded from there.
The content needs no account
The whole book, the audiobook, every published Article, and everything published in Watch are open on this site and in the app with no sign-in. If the account is giving you trouble, the content is still there.
What the account is for
It keeps your reading, listening, and watching places, your Notes and Bookmarks, your settings, and the other personal things as they arrive. It never opens content. The full account of what is kept is on the Privacy page.
Deleting your account
On the phone and on the site alike, open Account, then Settings. Under MY DATA choose Delete my account, then Delete now. Once deletion is confirmed, the POLOE account record and the information linked to it are removed as described in the Privacy Policy, and the deletion cannot be undone. The same instructions, reachable without signing in, are at /account/delete.
